Dental Implants

Dental Implants offer a  predictable and conservative method of replacing one or more missing teeth with a solution that mimics as closely as possible nature. A commercially pure titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and acts like the root of a natural tooth. It is used to support a replacement tooth after a suitable healing period. The replacement tooth or teeth might be fixed permanently (like a crown or bridge) or attached in a way which lets you remove them for cleaning (like a denture).

Implant treatment normally has two stages. First, the implant is placed in the jaw during a highly controlled and precise surgical procedure. Then, when the jaw has healed, a replacement tooth is attached to the implant. In some situations it is possible for temporary teeth to be attached to an implant at the time of fitting.

Any patient who has missing teeth that they want replaced could be eligible for treatment with the use of Dental Implants. However, your suitability can only be confirmed following a thorough consultation and examination. Contact us to arrange an implant consultation and we will let you know the possibilities. Our team will be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

At The Tanshire Clinic we are very fortunate to have Mr Nick Lewis, one of the United Kingdom’s leading Implant Surgeons. He is Consultant at both the Royal Surrey County Hospital Guildford and the Eastman Dental Hospital London.
